MUNICHFABRICSTART – a history of success.

 

2017

In September MUNICH FABRIC START Exhibitions launches the new trade fair format MUNICH APPAREL SOURCE. Running concurrently with MUNICH FABRIC START some 200 international manufacturing firms present their range of products, process solutions and services in the field of manufacturing and sourcing in Munich.

2016

MUNICH FABRIC START opens two new areas: With KEYHOUSE as an innovation and creativity centre and CATALYZER as an extension to the BLUEZONE, the trade fair now boasts over 2,500 square metres of additional exhibition space earmarked for pioneering segments with great development potential. This means total exhibition space has grown to 42,500 square metres

The HIGH TEX AWARD is presented for the first time, which honours the most innovative and forward-looking highlights in fabrics and Additionals from vendors exhibiting at MUNICH FABRIC START.

In February, the anniversary edition proved itself to be the strongest trade fair since the inception of this event.The 40th edition of MUNICH FABRIC START boasted a clear trend towards greater international flair both in terms of exhibitors and visitors. More than 950 suppliers presented over 1,500 collections for the 2017 Spring.Summer season. 

2015

The September edition of MUNICH FABRIC START shows a new record of exhibitors with almost 1,000 international suppliers from 36 countries showcasing an extended portfolio of fabrics and additionals for the season’s start. Furthermore, the additionals segment of the sustainable sourcing area organicselection is extended by lace, braids and motivs using GOTS-certified cotton for the first time.

In February 2015 the percentage of international visitors could be slightly increased again by 3%, which underlines the continuous positive development for the fair to gain more and more international importance.

Both, VIEW Premium Selection as preview textile fair and MUNICH FABRIC START, focus on textile innovations, novel material blends and technological developments that ensured a high appeal in all exhibition segments.

2014

For Premium Order Munich in August, the two owner-operated trade show companies PREMIUM Exhibitions II GmbH and MUNICH FABRIC START Exhibitions GmbH join forces for a new cooperative endeavor in the city of Munich.

VIEW Premium Selection, the exclusive preview fair by MUNICH FABRIC START, debutes at the Munich Transport Museum (MVG Museum) and enables the presentation of an expanded portfolio with more than 300 collections to start off the season.

In May, MUNICH FABRIC START is awarded with the coveted “forum prize” by B2B magazine TextilWirtschaft for its steady willingness for development and change as well as its high innovative approach.

2013

The September edition of MUNICH FABRIC START sets a new record with 950 exhibitors from 33 nations.

Additionals go organicselection: from now on the sustainability platform also presents certified sustainable accessories and findings.

organicselection goes online: the entire portfolio of sustainable and ecologically certified fabrics is now also available online under the link: www.organic-selection.com.

2012

BLUEZONE extents portfolio by a creative complete offer: R.M.S dpt. - Ready Made Solutions is the creative one-stop-shopping range to simplify the sourcing process.

organicselection and ECO VILLAGE together form the sustainability forum of MUNICH FABRIC START in a dedicated exhibition area.

Premiere for the DESIGN STUDIOS as a stand-alone own exhibition area for individual print and pattern designs on the first floor of the MOC.

2011

News in the BLUEZONE! Under the slogan “Tomorrow is Today“ or “TisT“ for short, exhibitors also present initial ideas and developments for the next season

2010

ECO Village is initiated as a service center for trade and business professionals centered around the issue of sustainability. 

2009

A new division „organicselection“ is launched by MUNICHFABRICSTART” for ecologically friendly and sustainable fabrics. 

2007

In September more than 750 exhibitors from 30 countries present about 1,200 collections.

2006

Realisation of the ASIA SALON in Atrium 4 of the MOC as an area place for first-class Asian suppliers.

2003

Launching of the BLUEZONE area in the Zenith-Halle as a stand-alone concept for the denim and sportswear industry with leading international manufacturers of denim, sports and streetwear, along with textile finishing companies.

1996

MUNICHFABRICSTART Veranstaltungen GmbH is founded as a proprietary company by Wolfgang Klinder, Florian von Obernitz and Klaus Pannier. The fair started off with 50 exhibitors each on 18 sqm booths.
