MUNICHFABRICSTART – a success story for our exhibitors and visitors MORE

Chronology

MUNICHFABRICSTART Benchmark Data

1996

MUNICHFABRICSTART Veranstaltugen GmbH is founded as a propriety company and promoter of the “Precollections” division. The founders and managing partners are Wolfgang Klinder, Florian von Obernitz and Klaus Pannier. MUNICHFABRICSTART originated from the trade fair for sales representatives "Stoff München". The fair started off with 50 exhibitors each on 18 sqm booths inside Munich Order Centre M,O,C, and focused mainly on pre-order collections for the DOB and HAKA.

2003

Launching of the BLUEZONE area in the Zenith-Halle which is a hall located just a few meters from the M,O,C, previously used for the maintenance of trains . This unique concept attracts approximately 50 leading international manufacturers of denim, sports and street wear, along with textile finishing companies. In the meantime, this concept has inspired many others throughout Europe.

2006

Completion of the ASIA SALON in Atrium 4 above Hall 4 of the M.O.C. The area serves as a place for the (meanwhile) 80 first-class Asian suppliers to exhibit their textiles.

2007

In September more than 750 exhibitors from 30 countries present about 1,600 collections.

2009

MUNICHFABRICSTART expands its presentation portfolio in order to offer visitors, as well as exhibitors, more opportunities for their presentations and to retreat. A new division “Organiselection” is launched by MUNICHFABRICSTART“. It provides an important service pool for the increasingly strong part of the fashion industry which is grappling with sustainability and ecology.

2010

ECO Village is initiated. It provides a service center for trade and business professionals who are looking for a direct connection to certified and non-profit organizations for more sustainability and environmental awareness.

2011

News in the BLUEZONE! Under the slogan “Tomorrow is Today“ or “TisT“ for short, it makes the future its agenda. The centrepiece of this visionary concept lies in presenting two seasons. Depending on their respective focus, denim and sportswear brands are given the opportunity to see not only the current “regular“ season, but also isolated examples of initial ideas and developments for the next season. Thus, the future moves closer and sourcing is given a new creative dimension.
