Absolute Elements
Owls, bears and wolves are the inspiration for the haptics, giving the brute feel to the fabrics. Animal skins and archaic patterns serve as draft for prints. Voluminous fabrics, like felt and loden, feel like sportswear or like Tracht, the traditional German and Austrian folkloric costumes. Heavy weights for natural materials promise substance. Traditional wool patterns such as tweed and herringbone are combined with unicoloured, shaded or over dyed checks.
Giant knits and corduroy, leather or irregular furs create a significant and plenteous fabric-landscape.
The Poet and The Doll
The airy feel of the story is expressed by floating, paper-like technical fabrics hovering in space paired with hairy, snugly and cuddly soft tufted textiles. These fabrics become voluminous artworks of origami draped in layers. Delicate and heavy jerseys are decorated with laces, ribbons and feathers. Technical doubles, needled felt or boiled wool create fluttery surfaces. Ajouré effects structure solids. Velvet surfaces are the best base for soft, light and medium tones, often with peachskin-treatments. Cashmere, Vicunha and Alpaca are used for precious knits.
Swing & Champagne
Precious wool blends in medium weights are being used for costumes and suits. Yarns are highly twined and compact. Silks and silky gauze are being mixed with lingerie, lace and transparent styles. Jacquards shine in various interpretation, for example in double-weavings, in matt/shiny, flat/hairy or printed. Velvet appears in various forms from shiny crushed velvet to full, deep and matt optics. Metallic coatings are printed or metalized, partially patterned or solid with ornamental luster. Moiré effects, taffeta and gross grain promise luxurious effects.
Polka Scotch
Folkloric patterns, paisleys, furs and fake furs, tartans, plaids and kilts, checks of all kinds and sizes appear colourful. Natural materials and technical fabrics are used simultaneously. Moleskin, velour and voluminous fabrics with opulent decoration are reminders of old coats gone modern. Embellishments of Cossacks’ uniforms unite folkloric and traditional influences.

Fabrics and Finishes:
Coloured and transparent plastic-like coatings, metal linings and oily shine let surfaces appear “dirty” or artificial. Patterns or details in rubber print create paste-like relieves. Raw denims with multiple coatings achieve deep and dark shades. Recycled fabrics seem handmade. Overdyed stone washed pieces and elastic colour denims compete with very dark washes. Bleached effects or partial destruction are tuning finished products. Patched Nylon, printed degrades on technical fabrics, wild psychedelic quilted solids and prints express neo-arty uniqueness. Painted details, sprayed patterns and graphical prints are lurid and poisonous.
Crystal Candy
Kids & Youth
Various functional and technical fabrics demonstrate performance through coating or membranes. Print, quilting and treatments leave fabrics appearing frosted. Furthermore coloured denims, printed with fanciful pattern or coated with polyurethane or waxed.
Black & Excellent
For the first time, munichfabricstart – pre collections is presenting the Premium Segment in a separate Forum (H4, Studio 2 Entrance Area). Immersed in elegant black, the fabrics presented include silk, the finest wool, cashmere
and angora, shimmering in a soft sheen or captivating their audience with exquisite gauze quality.
Select materials elevate the leisure wear to high-end sportswear. Examples here are winter-look brushed cotton/linen (!) mixes and compact cotton double-fabrics. Noble femininity in contrast is provided by transparent silks and viscose combinations with flowing drape. Designs as tone-in-tone patterns or Heraldic Jacquards convey an exclusive look. Thanks to high-quality coatings or finishes, stretch articles assume a whole new signi-
ficance. Crepe-like nylon fabrics lend the feminine chic an equally surprising haptic feel and optics – simply stunning.
